YBAF PROGRAM FOR 2023

The Yerevan Biennial Art Foundation for the year 2023 is focused on the following directions:

  • Organize the Yerevan Biennial once every two years: Because of COVID19, we launched the first Yerevan Biennial in 2020/2022 on our digital platform. YBAF is now working towards securing the funding for the Yerevan Biennial 2024 to take place in Yerevan for the first time;

  • Promote Armenia and Armenian culture internationally: Using our Google Arts & Culture YBAF partner page to create online exhibitions which promotes the Country as well as providing financial support to local artists, curators, art institutions and museums; in 2023 we want to develop and produce 4 new exhibition to showcase on GA&C;

  • YBAF Business in Art Educational Program: YBAF has the mission to raise the standards in the art and cultural field by creating different certified educational programs such as: curatorial studies, production management, art critics, gallery management and art handling aiming to actively contribute to a structural reform in the arts and culture ecosystem in Armenia;
  • Latitude Art Space: After having hosted several exhibitions in 2022, we will continue hosting exhibitions of YBAF artists as well as organizing multi-disciplinary workshops and educational programs;

  • Art Factory Yerevan: The Building in 2022 was finally populated by artists from all medium. We are using our building (Art Factory Yerevan) to attract all the creative and artistic people that are interested in collaborating with the Foundation in multiple forms.  On the second third and fourth floor we have provided art studios for artists who want to use our community as a center for their work and production. We currently have in the building architects, jewelry designers, fashion designers musicians writers and painters. We aim for Art Factory Yerevan to become a platform and a supportive community for the creative youth of Armenia;

  • YBAF Art Collection: YBAF is cooperating and supporting several local Armenian artists while creating an in-house art collection and promotes and showcases foundations art once a year in Latitude;
  • Promote our Foundations Armenian artists to be promoted internationally: The Foundation is partnering with international cultural institutions and online sales platforms to promote Armenian artists internationally to enhance local art sales; we will continue and increment our presence on Satellites of Art.

  • YBAF Artist Collective: An annual program with a duration of  2 months. During the 2 months of the project, the YBAF will provide 6 different artists an art space and resources to see their in-studio projects through. After this experience of co-working and co-creating, the artists will share their ideas on hardships and pluses of “co-existence”  in frames of a conclusive exhibition; this year we will include in the program an international artist which will cooperate with one of our local Armenian artists
  • YBAF Fashion Award: We are currently organizing our third YBAF Fashion Award with new theme new participants and new exciting international partners. ts an annual program aiming to support the local fashion community by providing young talented fashion designers with the opportunity to flourish.
  • YBAF Wine Art Collection: A project launched to incite harmony between artists and the craft of winemaking. The project will inspire artists to rethink their premier series of artwork in the form of a wine label. The collaboration is an homage to the sacred art of Armenian winemaking, while simultaneously an opportunity for local artists to circulate and popularize their work on the labels of fine local wines.

  • A1 Art Space: Our new space in the heart of Yerevan is an exhibition space where YBAF artists are using for solo exhibitions, a café for art lovers to come and work and enjoy the harmony and energy of the arts and a showroom for few Armenian brands.
